Current projects
Elektrizitätswerk der Stadt Zürich (EWZ), Auwiesen Aubrugg site redevelopment, Zurich
EWZ is Zurich’s municipal power authority. The Auwiesen Aubrugg site is home to an EWZ complex that includes an electrical substation with space for technical infrastructure, offices and training rooms. The goals of this site redevelopment project include: firstly, a replacement for the “Aubrugg” building with infrastructure for crisis situations; secondly, the complete renovation of the “Auwiesen” building including the substation, management area and emergency control center; thirdly, a partial reorganization of the outdoor space. inizimo’s scope of services comprised: preparation of a report on legal requirements and construction laws, external site constraints and the existing built structures. We performed a feasibility study for the new “Aubrugg” building which included design studies and occupancy scenarios for standard operations and crisis situations. inizimo further provided a preliminary study for the complete renovation of the “Auwiesen” building, including plans, a rough building description and cost estimate, as well as the compilation of the necessary documentation for the general planner tendering procedure.

Elektra Birseck Münchenstein (EBM), Hallenstrasse Nord “Quartierplan”, Oberwil BL
EBM is an energy supply company in the Swiss canton of Baselland. It owns one of many properties within the boundaries of a “Quartierplan” for apartment buildings in OberwilBL. (A “Quartierplan” is a cooperative local urban planning instrument for the development of larger sites). Metron AG created the initial concept for the site, including this new Quartierplan, its regulations and a guiding reference project. inizimo was tasked with reviewing these documents and providing EBM with the insights and knowledge they needed with regards to the ongoing planning procedure. inizimo’s scope of services comprises design studies including several different scenarios for a new housing project, volume and area calculations, and a catalogue of issues to be addressed, questions to be answered and recommended actions.

A building rented and used by SBB (Swiss national railway company) with 1,000 workplaces needed to be adapted in order to accommodate an open floor plan and desk sharing. Objectives: Compliance with SBB workplace standards, increased capacity of building services and restaurant, improved acoustics. Support for the GPL (general project manager of the real estate user SBB) in project management, process support, planning and execution support, decision-making and controlling of quality, costs and deadlines. The maintenance and parking facility F (“UAF”) is owned and used by SBB (Swiss national railway company). It comprises a rail hall measuring approx. 200 x 60m with two adjoining buildings with offices, workshops and warehouses. It is scheduled for refurbishment and conversion. The contract covers the analysis of conditions, determination of users’ needs, feasibility studies, usage scenarios and refurbishment measures. The building had to be reconstructed during normal operations.

Project development of a “Quartierplan” for a commercial area in Arlesheim
This large-scale property was used for infrastructure buildings of the former “PTT” (Swiss Post and Telecommunication Company). The goal was to reconfigure the existing “Quartierplan” (cooperative local urban planning instrument for the development of larger sites), because it only permitted the use as a postal distribution center. Specification: new “Quartierplan” regulations, new types of use, higher density and more gross floor area. Preparation of market / location analysis, preparation of usability, feasibility, economic efficiency and design scenarios, coordination with authorities, neighbors and stakeholders.
